Dr. Alex Ringeisen is originally from Lakeville, Minnesota. He attended medical school at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities in Minneapolis. Following his ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Dr. Ringeisen completed a two-year vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at VitreoRetinal Surgery in Minneapolis.
Dr. Ringeisen specializes in medical and surgical retina procedures and his focus is in the care of diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal vascular disorders and vitreoretinal surgery.
In his spare time, Dr. Ringeisen likes to golf, run and travel to historic sports stadiums. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura and their two daughters, Wren (two years) and Elle (three months). He and his wife have been season ticket holders for the Wisconsin Badgers Football since 2005, and love hosting tailgates for family and friends at both home and away games.
When it comes to patient care, Dr. Ringeisen’s goal is to teach patients and their families about vitreoretinal disorders. “My goal is to have all patients understand and be actively involved in their treatment plan,” he says.
