Dr. Siobhan Beeksma has practiced at Chippewa Valley Eye Clinic since 2000. She graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry and is a Board Certified Optometrist by the American Board of Optometry.

Dr. Beeksma has a wide scope optometry practice, which includes routine eye care for children through adults. She manages ocular disease such as cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. If these conditions require a specialist’s care, she will promptly get patients the care they need.

Dr. Beeksma enjoys working with contact lenses. Most of the lenses she fits are for nearsightedness or farsightedness. She also has lenses available for astigmatism and bifocals when necessary.

One of the most rewarding parts of her job is working with patients who have corneal disease, (such as keratoconus, corneal scarring, or severe dry eye) and require specialty contact lens fits. These fits may require a rigid gas permeable or scleral lens.

Dr. Beeksma also sees patients for Low Vision exams. The focus of these visits is to determine what devices and techniques can be used for desired viewing tasks.

When Dr. Beeksma is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family. “I am a cheerleader and driver for my children,” she says. “I love date night with my husband, Tad.”

Whenever possible, she enjoys exploring new places. “I will always go out of my way to see a new waterfall and am willing to sleep in a tent if it provides an opportunity to see somewhere new,” Dr. Beeksma says.

Although she loves to explore, she grew up right here in Eau Claire and says that she enjoys watching the city change and embraces the fun things it now has to offer.

Dr. Beeksma is a member of the Wisconsin Optometric Association and the Indianhead Optometric Society.
